Sonic.EYX Game Online
This is another mod for the famous hedgehog challenge. The blue character is no longer what they used to see him as. After the demon took his soul, he had completely different entertainment. In Sonic.EYX, players will plunge into yet another story.
Here everyone will have a great time despite the atmosphere around. There is complete gloom and darkness, and the enemies are ready to attack at any second. Will you be able to persevere and not give up? The main thing is to be attentive and vulnerable.

Documentary — What Happened? [ ]
So I was randomly searching across Google Chrome, looking to see anything interesting, To my surprise, I found a pretty old Sonic 1 game, and I bought it off eBay. It arrived at my doorstep a few days later, and I uncovered a Genesis console from my old, but tidy closet. After getting it out, I quickly got to work playing the game after setting up the Genesis. Here’s what happened when I was playing the game:
Gameplay [ ]
It loaded up a disclaimer screen, which I personally have not seen that in past Sonic games. It said something about flashing lights, but anyways. I ignored that, thought it was a prank to whoever last owned this. Not long after, it blacked out and I thought it disconnected from the Genesis, but it turned back on a few seconds later. It loaded up the usual (but nostalgic) SEGA chorus, full with the game’s title. It then showed a «Sonic Team Presents» phrase, but red text flickered once when it was gone. Then we see usual Sonic, shaking his finger and whatnot. But here’s the catch; It flickered into a gory, discolored Sonic with one eyehole (pupil not shown.) Then it flickered to usual Sonic, but started glitching out after that. It then turned what looked to be a glitched out background with text implying that I should «QUIT RIGHT NOW BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE». I totally ignored this, but I should’ve listened. What happened next was «Sonic» emerging from the title mark where Sonic WOULD be. Then it gone back to the usual Green Hill zone, but playing as. Tails? After going a bit far into the level, it played static, accompanied by the map being discolored (I’m calling this a static event.) It did this another time, when I was near a barrier (invisible wall). I was stuck on what to do until I figured out you can fly, and I felt stupid. When I got past that, it did the «static event» again when I was heading for the end of the level. It was doing it repeatedly again and again when I neared the end of the level. When I’d thought I had reached the end, I saw Sonic stands in front of Tails. Sonic then ran away in the opposite direction. Next thing you know, I was going the opposite way. When I reached a certain point in the level, it showed a deformed «Tails» (I think,) with the words repeatedly saying «STOP» or «GO BACK».

Sonic.EYX or Sonic the Hedgehog: Editable ROM is a creepypasta ROM hack and character inspired by Sonic.exe depicting a version of Sonic the Hedgehog with long arms, bloody claws and a single, oversized eye. The character was created in October 2021 and the ROM hack was posted to GameJoly in March 2022, becoming popularized in Let’s Play videos and inspiring fan content over the following months.

On October 15th, 2021, Twitter [1] user @Kaua161 posted, «my own sonic.exe design guess he’ll be called EYX,» along with a drawing of a disfigured, horror-inspired Sonic with long, dragging arms, a single eye and a gaping mouth (shown below).

Sonic the Hedgehog: Editable ROM
On March 13th, 2022, @Kaua16 and @CloudyCrack555Gamer posted a ROM hack to GameJolt [2] based on Sonic.EYX and a creepypasta version of Tails, Cynffonnau, titled, «Sonic the Hedgehog: Editable ROM.» The game is presented as a cursed ROM hack controlled by Sonic.EYX. It plays like a normal Sonic game at first where the player takes control of Tails. Once Tails encounters Sonic, the game begins to glitch as Sonic.EYX manipulates it. The game crashes a number of times by design and becomes further manipulated with each launch.
Editable ROM became a prominent subject of Let’s Plays over the following months. On April 12th, YouTuber [3] 8-BitRyan played the hack, gaining over 1.6 million views in two months (shown below, left). On May 18th, YouTuber [4] Markiplier then played the hack, gaining over 4.3 million views in a month (shown below, right).
Fandom
On April 17th, 2022, modder Jaronjackpot posted a demo to GameBanana [5] for a Sonic.EYX stage for Friday Night Funkin’. The next day, YouTuber Error posted a video showcasing the demo, gaining over 36,000 views in two months (shown below).
The character has also inspired fan content and art. For example, on June 17th, Twitter [6] user @MedicalApple5 posted several pieces of art depicting EYX in the style of Sonic Advance character sprites, gaining over 460 likes in six days (shown below).

Every active player must have met Sonic the Hedgehog. He is the protagonist of the series of games with the same name. What is so special about this character? He is of blue color and can develop an extraordinary speed.

But one day, this cute hero has gone through some unbelievable transformation. It is like some sinister reincarnation that produced an evil version of the character – Sonic Exe. Now, this blue personage is a true creepypasta representative that will not stop when he sees his next victim. Now, this evil version of the hero is sneaking into other gaming projects scaring everyone around. One of his favorite adventures is to challenge Boyfriend from FNF to rhythmical battles. But it is not the whole story about him! The anthropomorphic hero keeps his transformation experiments and acquires several additional appearances, one worse than the other. And one day, he goes through an unnamed
Cute Hedgehog
ROM hack and turns into Sonic Eyx. This creature reminds the original character but his appearance has gone through severe changes – now she looks a real monster! He is no longer a red-eyed skinny Sonic. Now, this personage is very tall and thin and had only one big eye! He does not wear gloves anymore – Sonic Eyx comes with ordinary fingers that finish with long claws. In other words, this reworked hero can tear anyone to pieces instantly! If you have met this cute Hedgehog in his previous roles, you must interact with Sonic Eyx to go through an absolutely new gaming experience! You will not forget this thrilling adventure!
